Carbon steel for Nigerian oil and gas

Most oil and gas piping in Nigeria is carbon steel: API 5L Grade B to X65 line pipe, PSL1 or PSL2, for pipelines and flowlines; A106 Grade B pipe for station and plant piping; A105 and A694 flanges; and A234 WPB and WPHY fittings. In the humid, high-rainfall climate of the Niger Delta, external coatings and careful storage are important, so line pipe can be supplied with 3LPE or FBE coating, and fittings and flanges with rust-preventive coatings for transport and storage. Many projects require local-content documentation and specific marking, which we follow as the purchase order sets out.

Standards, specifications and sour service

We review the specification named in each enquiry – the owner's or EPC contractor's material requirements, supplementary testing, marking and documentation – and confirm which requirements can be met before quoting. Material for sour service can be supplied to NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 on request. Our company is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and mill test certificates (MTC) are supplied with all material.

Shipping to Nigeria

Shipments leave from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) near Mumbai for Lagos (Apapa and Tin Can Island) and Onne / Port Harcourt, and urgent consignments can go by air freight to Lagos. We quote on EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF terms, and transit time is confirmed with each quotation. Material is packed for sea freight in bundles, wooden boxes and crates with ISPM 15 treated wood, and each package is marked to the buyer's instructions. Documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading and MTC, with attestation or legalisation where the buyer requires it. Third-party inspection by the buyer's nominated agency can be arranged before dispatch.
