Materials & Grades We Supply

As a metal alloys supplier in India, Giriraj Impex offers more than 100 grades across stainless steel, duplex and super duplex steel, nickel alloys, titanium, carbon steel, alloy steel and mild steel. The material decides how a pipe, fitting or plate behaves in service – its resistance to corrosion, its strength at high or low temperature and how easily it can be welded – so we start every enquiry with the grade.

Choose a material family below for its grades, product forms and governing standards. The table at the end of this page gives the UNS and Werkstoff (WNR) numbers of the most frequently requested grades.

Materials & Grades We Supply

Material families

  • Stainless steel – austenitic grades such as 304/304L, 316/316L, 321, 310S and 904L for general corrosion resistance.
  • Duplex and super duplex steel – higher strength and better resistance to chloride stress corrosion than standard austenitic grades.
  • SMO 254 and Alloy 20 – high-alloy grades for seawater and acid service.
  • Nickel alloys – Inconel, Incoloy, Monel, Hastelloy and nickel 200/201 for severe corrosion and high temperature.
  • Titanium – light, strong and resistant to seawater and chlorides.
  • Carbon steel – pressure piping and vessels to ASTM standards.
  • Alloy steel – chrome-moly grades such as P11, P22 and P91 for high-temperature service.
  • Mild steel – structural and general-purpose sections and sheets to IS 2062.

Choosing a grade

For a new application, tell us the fluid, its concentration, temperature and pressure, and the design code you work to. Our team will point you to the grades usually specified for that service; the final choice of material remains with your engineer. Every grade is supplied with mill test certificates, and third-party inspection is available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

We supply more than 100 grades across stainless steel, duplex and super duplex steel, nickel alloys, titanium, carbon steel, alloy steel and mild steel, in pipes, tubes, plates, sheets, bars, flanges, fittings and fasteners.

The Unified Numbering System (UNS) gives each metal alloy a single code, such as S31603 for 316L stainless steel or N06625 for alloy 625. Using the UNS number avoids confusion between trade names and national designations.

The Werkstoff number is the German and European material number, for example 1.4404 for 316L. It is used in EN and DIN standards and is common on European drawings and data sheets.

Both have the same basic chromium-nickel-molybdenum composition, but 316L has a lower maximum carbon content, which reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding. Material is often certified to both grades (dual certified 316/316L).

Yes. Share the service conditions – fluid, temperature, pressure and design code – and we will suggest the grades commonly used for that duty. The final material selection should be confirmed by your design engineer.
