ASTM and ASME compliance
Material for the US market is certified to ASTM specifications and, for pressure equipment and piping built to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and B31 piping codes, to the matching ASME SA or SB specifications – for example ASTM A312 / ASME SA312 pipe and ASTM A182 / ASME SA182 flanges. Dimensions follow ASME B16.5, B16.9, B16.11 and B36.10M / B36.19M. Mill test certificates show the specifications, heat number, chemistry and mechanical test results, and can be supplied with dual certification where several grades or standards apply. Our company is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018, and mill test certificates (MTC) are supplied with all material.
Country of origin and DFARS
Our mill test certificates state the country of melt and manufacture, so buyers can confirm origin for their own compliance needs. Some US contracts – for example, defence contracts subject to the DFARS specialty metals rules, or projects with domestic-content requirements – restrict where steel and alloys may be melted or produced. Material of Indian origin may not meet those requirements, so please tell us at the enquiry stage if such a clause applies, and we will advise what can be supplied.
Shipping to the USA
Shipments leave from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) for US ports such as Houston, New Orleans, New York / New Jersey and Los Angeles / Long Beach, with air freight for urgent consignments. We quote on EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF terms; transit time is confirmed with each quotation. Material is packed for ocean freight with heat-treated wooden packing that meets ISPM 15. Documents include the commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, bill of lading and MTC. Third-party inspection by the buyer's nominated agency can be arranged before dispatch.
